Join us for an in-depth tour of the Dana-Thomas House, focusing on the details of Frank Lloyd Wright's design.
Expert volunteer Frank Marchant will lead you on this in-depth tour of the Dana-Thomas House. The tour, which is twice as long as a general tour, includes entering rooms that are not seen on other tours. You'll get a detailed look at the house from an architectural perspective, including some colorful stories related to the Dana House.
The tour will last approximately 2 hours, depending on guest questions and discussion. T here is no cost for the tour, but donations to support the site are suggested. Cash donations are accepted on-site, or you may donate electronically at https://historicspringfield.dnr.illinois.gov.
This tour is recommended for teens and adults with an interest in Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, and guests who have toured the house before, who would like a more in-depth experience. We're excited to bring you a new series of Civil War education programs at the Old State Capitol State Historic Site. On the Saturdays listed below, the Old State Capitol will be open for self-guided tours from 5:00-7:00 pm with short 20-minute presentations on weekly themes at 5:00, 5:45, and 6:30 pm. Presentations will vary week to week, but may include discussions with interpretive staff, interpreters in historic clothing, historic photography, props, artifacts, and/or hands-on activities.

"Seeds for Liberation" is the new documentary from Director Matthew Solomon ("Reimagining Safety") & Executive Producers Alana Hadid and Donna Hadjikhani ("Reimagining Safety"), that highlights the Free Palestine movement and its connections to Black, Chicano, and collective liberation. Featuring some of the biggest names in the movement, from Palestine to Stop Cop City, "Seeds for Liberation" is both powerful and inspiring, spanning decades of solidarity and culminating in reflections on what liberation and a free Palestine truly mean.
