The Central Illinois Chapter of SHRM (CIC SHRM) invites you to attend the Half-Day Educational Conference on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Memorial Center for Learning & Innovation in Springfield, IL.
This annual event brings together HR professionals, business leaders, and community members for a morning of learning, dialogue, and recognition. Attendees will explore timely workplace topics including workplace violence prevention, tackling tough conversations in the workplace, leadership and professional growth, and a legislator’s perspective on workforce and workplace issues. The conference also offers a unique opportunity to network directly with legislators and peers, gain practical insights, and leave inspired to lead with confidence and purpose.

GriefShare “Surviving the Holidays” allows attendees to lend support and acceptance of each other’s grieving process in a safe, caring environment. A 40-minute video will be shown that features advice from people who have faced the holidays after the loss of a loved one. There will be time for discussion after the video.
Participants will receive a “Holiday Survival Guide” that contains over 30 encouraging readings, helpful charts and tips to manage the holiday season. Tips include how to treasure past family traditions while creating new traditions and how to cope with the overwhelming feelings of sadness while juggling the social events of the holiday season. The goal for this seminar is to help participants find ways to honor their loved ones while putting themselves on the path towards healing and well-being.

GRIEFSHARE grief recovery and support group will meet at the Parish Hall at Trinity Lutheran School, 515 S. MacArthur Blvd., Springfield. The fall session will begin on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm and meets weekly for 13 weeks. GriefShare features nationally recognized experts on grief recovery topics including "Is This Normal?," "The Challenges of Grief," "Grief and Your Relationships," "Why," and "Guilt and Anger." Thanks to a grant from Thrivent Financial, the workbook fees for this session will be waived. Q.U.I.L.T.S of Springfield is pleased to announce their 2026 quilt show, Seam to Shining Seam on Friday and Saturday, March 20 and 21, 2026.
Our show is being held in the Orr Building at the Illinois State Fairgrounds (Gate 9-on 5th St). A map is included on our website www.SpringfieldQuilts.com. The building is equipped with ramps for accessibility, parking is free, and a few wheelchairs will be available for your use at no cost, should one be needed. You may purchase food and drinks at the show and relax in a large seating area while enjoying your lunch or a snack.Our show is the largest in the area with about 400 quilts and quilted items on display and over 1,200 in attendance. In addition, we will have a raffle quilt, Quilts of Valor presentations, bed turnings, demonstrations, quilt appraisals (by appointment), door prizes, many vendors (for non-quilters, too!). A sale of small quilt-related items will benefit a selected charity.
