Bring your own materials and spend some time working on a creative project in the inspiring atmosphere of the Dana-Thomas House. Whether your interest is coloring, sketching, knitting, crochet, embroidery, origami, diamond art, watercolors or another type of project, we will provide you with space to work and engage in conversation with other community members who share your interest. Individuals, families and small groups are all welcome. This event is free and open to all ages; children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Reservations are recommended.

Food Not Bombs Springfield, IL is meeting in the Bicentennial Room on the 3rd floor of the library. New members are also welcome. We will be planning our future events and community involvement centering on food waste reduction and building mutual aid structures.

Chris Milligan, retired Senior Foreign Service Officer with USAID will share his perspective on why foreign assistance is vital to America’s national interest. He will discuss the importance of USAID’s mission and how supporting a stable and prosperous world advances U.S. security and prosperity, particularly amid today’s global challenges and a changing world order.Milligan served more than 30 years at USAID advancing U.S. development and humanitarian goals, particularly in crisis and political transition settings. Over the course of his career, he led major initiatives that strengthened the effectiveness of U.S. foreign assistance and advanced American foreign policy priorities.
In the heart of our country, progressive-minded heiress Susan Lawrence Dana hired architect Frank Lloyd Wright to design her a home in which she could advance ideas about education and democracy.
The environment they created is one of the best-preserved examples of Wright’s “organic architecture,” containing more than 100 pieces of custom furniture and over 250 works of original art glass.
We invite you to see and experience the Dana-Thomas House by taking a guided tour of the site. The site is currently available by guided tour only; each guided tour lasts approximately one hour. Two evening tours will be provided, one at 5:30 and one at 6:30.

Craft with US Join us as we celebrate the 250th Birthday of our great nation and artistry, community, and giving back! The Springfield Ceramics and Crafts Club is excited to host their annual Table Setting Luncheon & Craft Exhibit, bringing together local talent and supporters of the arts.• Date: Fri., April 17, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Sat., April 18, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Food service: 11 a.m. till 1 p.m.• Location: Springfield Ceramics and Crafts Club, 2626 S.
