Oklahoma! is set in the Oklahoma Territory in 1906, and follows the romantic entanglements of farm girl Laurey Williams, who is courted by cowboy Curly McLain and the menacing farmhand Jud Fry. The story explores themes of love, rivalry, and community as it culminates in a dramatic confrontation between Curly and Jud.
The Springfield Muni celebrates their 75th anniversary in presenting Roger & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! Music by Richard Rogers with book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II.
