Join us for a fun walk hosted by your local Sertoma Club of Springfield, Illinois!

Celebrate Sound® returns most of the net proceeds directly to our community. Funds will be used to assist with the establishment of a new hearing clinic in Springfield for Medicaid patients.
Remaining proceeds provide nationally awarded grants and scholarships through Sertoma, Inc.

On Oct. 5, the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine will host its annual Open House, starting at 10 a.m. More than 40 informative booths and exhibits, featuring many live animals, will be spread throughout the veterinary campus. This family-friendly event doesn't require registration, and even parking is free! Refreshments, meals, and veterinary-themed apparel will be available for purchase.

The Barn III is thrilled to bring Joseph Kesselring’s Comedy Murder Mystery - “Arsenic & Old Lace” - back to The Barn stage! This hilarious show was beloved by Barn audiences in 1978 and 1996…third time’s a charm, right?

Mortimer Brewster’s engagement announcement is upended when he discovers a corpse in his elderly aunts’ window seat. Mortimer rushes to tell Aunt Abby and Aunt Martha before they stumble upon the body themselves, only to learn that the two old women aren’t just aware of the dead man in their parlor, they killed him! An uproarious farce on plays involving murder, one learns there is nothing more poisonous than family!

Evening Performances (Thursday, Friday & Saturday) • Doors open at 5:30 PM, you can arrive between 5:30-6:30 to dine with us, show starts between 7-7:30 PM.
Sunday Performances • Doors open at 11:30 AM, and you can arrive between 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM to dine with us. Show starts between 1-1:30pm.

A walk through Oak Ridge Cemetery. Actors in period costumes will tell personal stories of seven people buried at Oak Ridge Cemetery who made significant contributions to our community. Allow about two hours. Refreshments available for purchase. Hosted by the Sangamon County Historical Society. 217-525-1961

GRIEFSHARE grief recovery and support group will meet at the Parish Hall at Trinity Lutheran School, 515 S. MacArthur Blvd., Springfield. The fall session will begin on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm and meets weekly for 13 weeks. GriefShare features nationally recognized experts on grief recovery topics including "Is This Normal?," "The Challenges of Grief," "Grief and Your Relationships," "Why," and "Guilt and Anger." Thanks to a grant from Thrivent Financial, the workbook fees for this session will be waived.
This event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required to ensure there are enough materials for everyone.
