Rachel Otwell/WUIS

In 2015, it will have been 150 years since Abraham Lincoln died. It will also be the tenth anniversary of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield opening. These two milestones will be marked by special events, including an exhibit open now through 2016 that displays original speeches and Lincoln's death bed.

Clare Thorpe is the museum's Guest Services Manager, she says she anticipates a bump in the number of visitors at the museum this coming year. "We have had 3.6 million visitors visit our museum since it opened ... It is my personal goal and hope that next year we will hit that 4 million mark - and we will be the presidential museum that leads the records for attendance in 2015," said Thorpe. Here's our interview with her:

The museum will also soon integrate more digital features - including apps that visitors can use to access information from the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. Springfield will host a funeral recreationin the spring.
