NPR Illinois' Sean Crawford talks with State Journal-Register Business Editor Tim Landis.

The topics this week:

Hog-farm expansion - Illinois pork producers already have filed 61 notices of intent for construction with Department of Ag, which is half the figure for all of 2015; price and demand driving the expansion. Borgic Farm Inc. of Raymond among those planning to add facilities.

Blues & BBQ -  Alamo restaurant owner Barry Friedman has purchased the rights from Downtown Springfield Inc. and says he'll return the festival "to its roots," including a return to the final weekend in August. Seems hot weather, beer and bbq go together after all.

Cardologist - Eclectic card shop has been in 200 block of South Sixth Street, but has to be out of the space by the end of this month as the building was sold to new owners. Store owner Doug Mayol says he hopes to find a new location.

Tax overpayments -  The Illinois Department of Revenue overpaid local tax districts from the Personal Property Replacement Tax.  It wants the money back, but doesn't plan to begin collection of overpayments until at least January 2017.
