The King of Fighters XIII

Why: I have been a huge King of Fighters fan since KoF 94’. It’s a solid series that was never just another Street Fighter wanna be.

What I like: The large colorful backgrounds, well animated characters and great overall fighting system.

What I would like to see improved: More unlockable characters.

World Wrestling Entertainment

WWE has pushed forward in the months since the COVID-19 outbreak in the US. It hasn't been easy but they've been able to build on some storylines and give us one of the best champions we've had in a long time in Drew McIntyre. We've seen yet another evolution in these live shows as WWE has now taken to adding a limited audience by having upwards of 50 WWE trainees at social distances in the arena while separating the ring with plexiglass panels. It's added much to retrieving the old feeling of having a crowd and we might even have more evolution that we'll talk about later.

World Wrestling Entertainment

The absence of professional sports in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak has left a pretty sizeable void in the world. An unassuming beneficiary of those shutdowns has been World Wrestling Entertainment. Despite performing in front of empty arenas, they and their competitors are the one mass live entertainment enterprise still producing new live content. Any WWE fan and even casual observers can tell you that the entire wrestling calendar revolves around Wrestlemania. The annual April mega show is not just a WWE showcase.

Apr 7, 2020

The world of esports, while not at all a new thing, has been promoted to the forefront as a mainstream offering during these times of isolation and social distancing. The remainder of the F1 2020 season was put on hiatus as of March 20th, but that didn't stop the international racing juggernaut from debuting a brand new esports F1 Grand Prix series on Sunday on March 22nd.

Top 10 Guilty Pleasure Movies of the Last Decade

Apr 5, 2020

When I started the Guilty Pleasures podcast almost 3 years ago, I started with the basic question: What is a “Guilty Pleasure?” Some would say it’s a movie that’s so bad it’s good, a movie you watch with a sort of ironic detachment, laughing at something as opposed to with it. While I certainly agree with some of that, as I’ve delved further into the world of Guilty Pleasures, I find that concept to be a little incomplete.

FLASHBACK - Outbreak & Contagion

Apr 4, 2020
Warner Bros. Pictures

With everything going on in the world, it's no wonder the films #Outbreak and #Contagion have become very popular again. But subject matter aside, how accurate are they and how well do they portray their situations? The #Flashback crew is ready to break them down. #FRN #NPR

We at Super GG Radio usually focus on the lighthearted, the fun, and what we love spending our time doing with friends.  While we can’t ignore how COVID-19 and the downstream effects of it spreading across the world have affected not only us but those in our community, we along with some friends & collaborators want to offer some of our favorite video games (in no particular order) we feel could help offer a distraction while many of us are holed-up in our homes.  Whether this time to you feels like a forced staycation, a fearful period without work, or time standing still, we hope one

GUILTY PLEASURES - Tremors & Tremors 2

Universal Pictures

It's a crossover kind of day! The collective powers of #GuiltyPleasures and #Flashback combine to.... honor?.... the 30th anniversary of the sci-fi horror comedy #Tremors. And as an added bonus? Why not throw in #Tremors2 as well?! Gonna be fun taking this one to the Guilt Meter. Natives of a small isolated town defend themselves against strange underground creatures which are killing them one by one.

Newsweek

Is anyone out there as tired talking about Star Wars as I am (“well, you’re the one writing about it, jackass”)? For over 40 years, the adventures of the Skywalker family have captivated, frustrated, and splintered us. So much so, I’ve added on to an old saying – there are 3 things you don’t discuss in public: religion, politics, and Star Wars.

What Happened to The Irishman?

Feb 10, 2020
Netflix

From the time it was announced, Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman seemed destined to dominate the Academy Awards. An epic film from one of Hollywood’s most revered filmmakers, which sees him reuniting with long-time collaborator Robert DeNiro? And Joe Pesci coming out of retirement? AND Al Pacino? Top all of that off with a screenplay from Steve Zallian, based off a book inspired by true-life events and it would seem to hit Oscar Bingo.

Oscars Best Picture Rankings

Feb 9, 2020
Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences

To put it in the most purely academic term I can think of, it has been a stupid good year for film. This year’s Academy Awards features categories overflowing with strong choices, so much so that a whole separate show could be cobbled together featuring all the overlooked nominees. There are still some snubs that hurt, and the Academy’s diversity problem is still a much too slow work in progress, but it also feels as if the Academy’s Best Picture lineup is the strongest its been in a long time.

Democratic Candidates as Best Picture Nominees

Feb 3, 2020
Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences

It’s a harrowing time for Hollywood Democrats. As we speak, Academy voters are logging in and submitting their votes for the Academy Awards. At the same time, voters everywhere are preparing for their state’s primaries to select a candidate in the Democratic primary (The Republicans already have their candidate, so Jon Voight can rest easy). While on the surface, these seem like very disparate events (with only one having some actual stakes behind them), this year’s contests seem very similar.
