Brandon and Front Row Flashbacks host, Jay Hoffman join Alison to discuss her newest book, "Making the Best Years of Our Lives: The Hollywood Classic that Inspired a Nation".   • We were delighted to be invited to a recent press junket in preparation for the release of "Physical" season two on Apple TV+. Craig was able to preview some of season two as well as interview the show's creator Annie Weisman. She provided insights on where we will find our characters as they move throughout season two, and what messages she is hoping to convey to the audience. Next, Craig caught up with actress Dierdre Friel, who plays Greta in the series. She explains how she relates to her character and talks about the onset chemistry between her costars.   • Christian Blauvelt returns to Front Row Classics to celebrate one of the greatest homefront films of World War II. Brandon and Christian discuss 1943's The Human Comedy. The movie, based on an original screenplay by William Saroyan, was made at the peak of MGM's powers during the days of the studio system. Mickey Rooney delivers an Oscar nominated performance alongside a top notch ensemble cast. The film is a perfect mix of sentimentality and the reality of war on the homefront. Sloan's most recent release is "The Essential Directors: The Art and Impact of Cinema's Most Influential Filmmakers". The book highlights fifty-six of the greatest directors from the silent through the modern era. Brandon and Sloan highlight several of these filmmakers along with some of their greatest movies. We also spend time discussing Sloan's lifelong love of cinema.

  • Maggie Angeli is the owner of Smokin Mirror Salon in downtown Springfield, Ill. She spoke to Community Voices about creating an urban, luxury feel at her salon in which clients do not feel rushed. She also shared hair horror stories and provided some lesser known hair care tips.
