Title: Hope Fragmented
Medium: Acrylic
Narrative: The title of this painting “Hope Fragmented” was partly inspired by Langston Hughes poem A Dream Deferred and partly by my feelings of despondency after the 2016 presidential election. The hope and optimism I felt prior to the election is depicted in the painting by light and circular motion that is being fragmented by disparate movement that blocks and breaks the light. Hope + despondency battle together in an atmosphere of indifference egotism opportunism and chaos.
