Regina Kovach received her undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University, and is a graduate of the Charter Class of SIU School of Medicine. She is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine, and retired in 2016 after 25 years on the faculty at SIUSOM. 

She volunteers at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery. She is married and has three grown children.
