SJ-R.com

Sean Crawford talks with State Journal-Register Business Editor Tim Landis.

This week:

* Panhandling trial: Set for Dec. 5 on constitutionality of city of Springfield ordinances, though settlement discussions continue.

* White Oaks Mall at 40: Big changes along with changes in the retail industry; more emphasis on "local" offerings and out-lots, including now a fresh produce stand; basically, consumers want more than shopping.

* Korean War Museum: Shut down July 29 without notice; Illinois Attorney General among those looking into the closing and what became of exhibits, including those donated by Korean War veterans. The museum on he Old State Capitol Plaza had been having financial troubles for years.
