SHG Principal Retiring This Summer

SHG

Sacred Heart-Griffin High School's long time principal has announced her retirement.

Sister Margaret Joanne Grueter, O.P. has announced that she will be leaving effective June 30, 2016. She's been at the school for 20 years, the last 16 as principal.

In a news release, Sr. Margaret Joanne says, “My 20 years have been rich, filled with blessings and challenges.  I love the people, the mission, the newness of each day and each school year.  I will treasure the memories and I will keep the SHG community and mission in my prayers.  The time to pass on the torch of leadership has arrived. I am grateful for the honor and privilege of being part of SHG.”

The news release also quotes Sr. Katherine O’Connor, O.P., President of SHG.  “I personally have appreciated working with her.  I am especially aware of her attention to the curriculum and to all the deadlines and details that a principal handles on a daily basis and her attendance at our sports events (there are a lot of them) has been amazing and has meant so much to our athletes and coaches.  Sister Margaret Joanne will be missed! While she hasn't had time to plan for the future, she looks forward to exploring new possibilities beginning in July.  We wish her the peace of Christ in whatever her future holds.”

A replacement has not been formally named.
