Jeremie Bailey interviews with Leo Page

Hello, my name is Leo Page for the 2018 NPR Illinois PodCamp.

Jeremie Bailey shines a light on local, creative individuals with his podcast, Lincoln’s Legends. He is an enthusiast of Springfield’s artists, and their work.

"Springfield is my studio, so when I interview someone, I try to see the world through their eyes, because Springfield is vast, and there are so many places and so much character."

Not only is he excited about his podcast, but also about others.

"I get excited about people and their passions, and them being positive.

With podcasts growing in popularity, it is becoming easier and easier for anyone to get their message out there.

"We live in a time where you can make, produce, create, and put anything out there. The only tools I need is an audio recording and a guest, that’s it, how can I create more of these conversations, and share them with people, and add value to the world around me by doing it. I feel like I’m an ambassador for people."

Bailey expressed that the growing interest in fame pulls away from the reality of everyday life.

"Right now there is a huge push to be famous, and maybe they are, with their friends and families, and they love you, and are pumped about what you are doing, but outside of that, what are you famous for?"

Jeremy Bailey continues to find a plethora of interesting people from around Springfield, and interviews them on his podcast Lincoln’s Legends.

This has been Leo Page for the 2018 NPR Illinois PodCamp.
