Canvas and Cocktails

Whether enjoying a “date night” or just getting together with friends, you’ll spend a fun-filled evening making your very own work of art inspired by our newest exhibit, "Here I Have Lived: Home in Illinois." But you won't do it alone. You'll receive expert, one-on-one help from an art instructor with the Springfield Art Association.

The artists from the Springfield Art Association will have several images for you to choose from and all inspired by the museum's newest exhibit, "Here I Have Lived: Home in Illinois." You’ll choose from among iconic Springfield home images, such as the Lincoln home, Edwards Place, and the Dana-Thomas House, as well as world-renown home paintings like Matisse’s Open Window series, Wyeth’s Christina’s World, adaptations of American Gothic and many more. Whatever the image, you'll receive expert, one-on-one help from an instructor from the S-A-A throughout the evening as you create your very own "masterpiece".

For $35, S-A-A will provide all the art supplies and the museum will have complimentary light snacks. Plus, beer, wine, and soft drinks available for purchase as you create your masterpiece. No outside food or drinks will be allowed. Advance registration is required.
