Past Due: SJ-R's Dean Olsen Covers Budget Impasse Effects On Patients & Doctors

Health reporter for The State Journal-Register, Dean Olsen, has been looking at the hurdles in place when it comes to healthcare access, many as a result of the state's budget problems. 

Olsen's recent reports include the issue of a lack of funding for autism programming, and the fact some surgeons are asking for partial payments from patients up-front, in lieu of insurance money that should be coming from the state. He'll explain that and more in this conversation. Olsen begins by talking about the challenges that come with trying to find out what the real consequences of the budget impasse have been for patients and doctors across the state:
