Christmas Archives for December 14, 2013

This is the WUIS Christmas Archives... for Saturday... December 14th.   I'm Rich Bradley

And in the Illinois State Register in 1971... take note of the deadline for submitting names of needy for this year's friend-in-deed fund.   In Taylorville... a shopping tour and party for their needy families.

At the end of the week... there will be a Chanukah service at the Congregation Temple Israel... The Spanish-America Club is hosting a Christmas party at the Harness House... and the Litchfield Jaycees are holding a Christmas decoration contest next week.

In Divernon... the school's Yule program... and the Divernon Lions' Club holiday party.  In Riverton... the Christmas concerts for elementary and high school students are set for the 21st.  Beardstown children will each receive a treat at the Old fashioned Christmas program on Saturday.

In the Register... a whole page of City-wide coupons can be found in the middle of the paper... ranging from maternity wear to Kentruck Fried Chicken... and bookcases to albums.

Doonsbury is thrilled with the snow outside his house... while Springfield residents are enjoying warmer temperatures... in the mid to upper 40's.  And... Tony's restaurant in the Downtowner Motor Inn has published an open invitation to their New Year's Eve Party.
