Campus officials said the result was due to fewer international graduate students enrolled. UIS also saw the number of international students go down in 2025 after the Trump Administration implemented stricter visa guidelines.

The event is set for Sept. 15 on campus. RSVP is requested.

The event is Tuesday, Apr. 7, at UIS.

The campus saw a 19% boost in first-year students.

Gooch, who became UIS chancellor in 2022, will serve alongside representatives from across all three NCAA divisions.

The second straight increase is welcomed news to the campus, which has seen a large drop in enrollment over the past decade.
