Resolutions Commend MVP Iguodala

A Springfield native is the subject of not one, but two, proposed House resolutions. Both seek to honor basketball star Andre Iguodala, who helped the Golden State Warriors win the championship title.

Republican Representative Tim Butler of Springfield says he wants Illinois to recognize Iguodala for winning the N-B-A Finals M-V-P Award.

"The notoriety and the focus that he's put on Springfield since winning the Finals MVP has been wonderful."

Butler says he and a Peoria-area legislator hope to bring one of Iguodala and one of his teammates, Peoria High School graduate Shaun Livingston, to the state capitol.

The other resolution commending Iguodala is sponsored by Democratic Representative Sue Scherer of Decatur.
