NPR Illinois Education Initiative

The NPR Illinois Education Initiative features engagement events and in-depth reporting from the NPR Illinois Education Desk.  The project focuses on local and regional efforts from pre-natal through higher education, to increase educational achievement and attainment and to address problems such as kindergarten readiness, effects of stress and family dysfunction on learning, the challenge of the high school dropout rate, college affordability, and teacher assessment.  This will help frame Illinois' future while carrying forward education journalism in the public interest.
