I’ve always been challenged to paint ruffles and folds on petals of flowers. The white iris is the most challenging for me. These specimens are from a neighbor’s garden picked at the peak of perfection. When I look at the painting again it reminds me of how much I love white iris.

My husband, Dick, and I planted these “Knock Out” roses 10 years ago. Many bouquets later, I was able to capture the airy, many colored stems and leaves and flowers in various stages development from bud to full bloom.
