University of Illinois Springfield police say an arrest was made over the weekend after threatening statements were posted on social media.
UIS police say they were notified by concerned students after comments were made on a website Saturday night.
A female student was charged with disorderly conduct. Police say Angel Newman, 19, admitted to making the posts and said she had been drinking and was remorseful. She had reportedly indicated she had a gun.
School officials say the campus was never in danger, but says they take all threats seriously.
