CLASSICS: An American in Paris (with Patricia Ward Kelly)

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer

Front Row Classics celebrates the 70th anniversary of one of the greatest movie musicals ever made. An American in Paris was a revolutionary film through its use of storytelling through music and dance. It still has the power to entertain seven decades later. We're thrilled to welcome back Patricia Ward Kelly, widow and biographer of Gene Kelly, to help us celebrate and examine the film's legacy. The episode covers the film's inception, cast and creators. We'll also hear personal insights into Gene's creation of the legendary American in Paris ballet. We hope this episode will inspire you to go back and rediscover this timeless work of art.

Brandon Davis is the host of Classics and Zone-i-Sodes on the Front Row Network. A true fan of cinema history, Brandon holds the distinction of being the official film historian of the Network.
