For opbmusic's next-to-last video premiere from the 2014 Pickathon Festival, we feature "Saint Valentine," a gem from singer-songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov. The song pairs Isakov's sharply written lyric with a plucky and hummable melody played by Jeb Bows (violin) and Steve Varney (banjo), performed in the woods at last summer's Pickathon.
The next Pickathon runs from July 31 to August 2, at Pendarvis Farm outside Portland, Ore. Each month through the start of the 2015 Pickathon festival, opbmusic and NPR Music are premiering another video recorded at the Woods Stage, handpicked by opbmusic to showcase some of the most exciting performances from last summer's lineup. The final premiere will run on July 30, and you can watch a live video stream of the festival at opbmusic.org.
