Songs We Love: Madisen Ward And The Mama Bear, 'Silent Movies'

Ruth and Madisen Ward are a mother-and-son duo who go by the moniker Madisen Ward And The Mama Bear. They've been playing shows together in Kansas City for the last several years, but in recent months, fans have begun to take notice of their music on a larger scale.

Thanks in part to appearances at Nashville's Americana Music Fest and on The Late Show With David Letterman, the Wards are attracting national attention. Madisen and Ruth Ward come off as real, goodhearted people with a sound to match. "Silent Movies" is a great introduction to their sound; it's from their upcoming debut album, due out in May.
