Take It As A Sign: Women's March In Springfield 2018

Today in Springfield what appeared to be several hundred people gathered around the Lincoln statue outside the State Capitol building to rally and march for women's rights. It's the second year for such a gathering, and organizers say it will continue to be an annual event through Donald Trump's presidency. 

Speakers at the rally included politicians, activists who were inspired to protest after the 2016 election results, and immigrants, including a young woman who's part of the DACA program, which is in its final years if the Trump administration is successful in its efforts. Protest signs featured topics including immigration, climate change, science, racism and the occasional jibe at the President directly. The above slideshow highlights some of the signs on display, and the people from all over the state who brought them to Springfield.
