There are now two drive-through, COVID-19 testing sites in Springfield – Memorial Medical Center Respiratory Clinic and Walgreens.

At this time, both require an appointment, according to information provided by the Sangamon County Department of Public Health.

Anyone over 18, regardless of symptoms, can be screened for COVID-19 at the Walgreens site, 1155 N. 9th Street. To schedule an appointment, visit their website. Their hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Anyone with symptoms or who has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 can be screened at the Memorial Medical Center clinic at 2950 S. Sixth Street. For appointments, call 217-588-4019. The clinic is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Illinois Department of Public Health-backed site that was in the county health department’s parking lot closed Sunday. It is a mobile testing unit, and IDPH moved it to Hillsboro.

Gail O’Neill, the head of the Sangamon County Department of Public Health, said the department is working with medical groups in the area to provide more testing.
