PODCAST ACADEMY 2020
Due to the success in the previous two years and the increasing demand, we are having our Podcast Academy again, this summer.
NPR Illinois Podcast Academy is a one-week educational program at the NPR Illinois studios on the campus of University of Illinois at Springfield for students interested in podcast and audio/video production. It will introduce participants to the development, production, execution, marketing of podcasts and to audio storytelling.
The curriculum is prepared by Ann Strahle, associate professor in communication at UIS. Ann and NPR Illinois staff members will instruct the academy with support from college students and other public media professionals and educators.
Over the course of the week, students will learn directly from leaders in the creative industries to use audio/video recording equipment, learn to use audio/video editing software, learn marketing and advertising a podcast, explore different media metrics, interview a subject, write and record a narration, learn to speak clearly and confidently, learn how to create a web story.
