Business Report: Jacksonville Business Update; Jiffi Stop Stores Sold; Beautifying Clear Lake Ave.

* Jacksonville business park: Morgan County  has lower unemployment than Springfield; Tri-County business partnership just opened up a new business park after the original filled in with small-to-mid-sized companies that have helped replace traditional manufacturing jobs.

* Jiffi Stop: Acquired by GPM Investments of Richmond, Virginia in latest example of convenience store consolidation to survive; GPM is subsidiary of Israeli company Petro Group LTD, which also bought 42 Road Rangers last year.

* Clear Lake Avenue: Sustainable Springfield is donating trees, including one-year of maintenance, to property owners along Clear Lake in the latest effort.

Ridgely Avenue: Construction at 11th Street and Ridgely Avenue part of final phase of high-speed rail work in Springfield.
