History Happy Hour -- Divas, Drag Kings, Damsels & Dames: Celebrating Women & Gender in the ALPLM Collection

Stop by Anvil & Forge Brewing and Distilling after work on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 5:30pm to grab a drink and hear an engaging story from ALPLM's library staff during "History Happy Hour."

Our Library staff has collaborated to bring you a History Happy Hour highlighting women and gender in Illinois! This presentation includes Gwendolyn Brooks, Mahalia Jackson, Albert Cashier, Tiny Davis and Ruby Lucas, The Radium Girls of Ottawa, and more. Attendees will enjoy poetry, music, photos, and engaging stories complied by librarian prowess from collections at ALPLM and across Illinois.

History Happy Hour is a partnership program between the Illinois State Museum and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
