Darrell Scott

Darrell Scott returns to Mountain Stage, recorded live at the Culture Center Theater in Charleston, W.Va. Known as a songwriter for Garth Brooks, Faith Hill and the Dixie Chicks — and as a sideman for singers like Steve Earle, Guy Clark, Patty Loveless and Tim O'Brien — the Kentucky native is a Grammy-nominated artist, an award-winning songwriter and a first-call session musician.

Along the way, the multi-instrumentalist — he excels on dobro, mandolin and guitar — earned a degree in poetry from Tufts University. Scott is backed here by the Mountain Stage house band; for his cover of Hank Williams' "Rambling Man," legendary steel-guitar player (and West Virginia Music Hall of Fame member) Russ Hicks joins in. Darrell Scott closes his set with a moving tribute to his friend and mentor, Guy Clark.
