Coal industry struggling -  700 layoffs last year, another 600 or so this year in Illinois and the issue is getting economic-development, jobs to areas that need it the most; An area lawmaker says state policy is "backwards."

Springnet1 -  One of the few surviving names from the 1990's dial-up boom in Springfield has sold its internet business to Rise Broadband; Springnet1 plans to focus on internet-based phone services for business.

Bunn-O-Matic - The firm moved 250 employees to former AT&T building at Wabash and Interstate 72; marketing, technical service and salespeople in the new location.
