Former Business DevelopmentJohn Wallenstein was a key member of the WUIS staff through his passing August 7, 2014.
He was known by many in the community. He loved his family and baseball. He helped businesses see that supporting public radio was an effective way to reach thoughtful and highly educated listeners. John spent his final two years raising funds for the Education Initiative. He was successful in bringing businesses, foundations and major donors together to support in-depth coverage of education in Illinois. This resulted in the hiring of a full time education reporter and education engagement events.
