SJ-R

Sean Crawford talks with State Journal-Register Business Editor Tim Landis.

This week:

* The Sangamon County Project economic-development report had some pretty tough things to say about local efforts and warned of continued slow population, income, job and tax revenue growth unless things change, including formation of a private-public economic development corporation.

* New look McDonalds. The remodeled restaurant on South Grand shows off the new company look, including self-ordering kiosks and table service.  The company says automation actually means hiring more workers.

* OfficeMax in Springfield the latest retail closing on Nov. 18; Office Depot/Office Max merged in 2013 and closings were expected. Office Depot not affected here.
