Springfield has always been known as the hometown of one of the most famous U.S. presidents, but that doesn't mean there are not more secrets to be held. Brian Galecki, co-owner of Dumb Records music store and venue, talked to Community Voices about the nearly 20-year history of how Springfield became a midwestern haven where punk music enthusiasts of all ages and nationalities come together.

Logan Bricker is a student at the University of Illinois Springfield studying journalism. He also assists the Community Voices team at NPR Illinois.
