Steven Herman, former White House bureau chief and ex chief national correspondent for the Voice of America will discuss VOA's importance, from its first broadcast during World War II, as it worked to counter Nazi and Japanese propaganda, through it broadcast to communist countries during the Cold War years to its almost total shutdown this year.
