Emily Itami‘s 2025 novel “Kakigori Summer” centers around three half-Japanese, half-British sisters who have returned to their childhood home in coastal Japan to deal with a family crisis. The book is out in paperback this month, and we revisit host Robin Young’s conversation with Itami from last June.
