It's December 6, 1982... a Monday... and in the Illinois Times for the week of December 2nd through the 7th: White Oaks Mall was remembering Christmases past... as shoppers visit Springfield as it might have been in the mid-1800's... in “A Dickens of a Christmas.”
Santa is busy this week: at Fairhills Mall kids can get their picture taken with him. And he'll swing by the YWCA for snacks and special lunch.
A new version of the old holiday fantasy “Christmas at Creepy Castle” comes to life Wednesday with Scott Richardson's puppets at the Lincoln Library. The Spfld Ballet Co. performs the Nutcracker at Sangamon State University this weekend.
30 years' worth of antique Christmas plates are on display at the Birk's Museum in Millikin University's Gorin Hall in Decatur.
Christmas at Clayville demonstrates 19-century Christmases at the Rural Life Center this weekend... and at the Postville Courthouse in Lincoln... you can delight in the crafts of the previous century with Mr. Lincoln himself.
And... in an ad on page 28... you can be sure to get... “over the river and through the woods... with complete confidence”... when you buy ATLAS tires... from Steve's Service Center.
