The Illinois Governor’s Mansion will offer new gallery tours of the Art of Illinois exhibit. Gallery tours are available daily, starting at 3 pm. Running approximately 90 minutes, the tours will guide guests through the exhibit of more than 100 pieces of art, including more than 20 pieces on loan from private collections. Co-curated by Wendy Greenhouse and Sharon Darling, Art of Illinois features pieces dating back 750 years through the present day. Pieces in the collection were generously lent by museums and organizations across Illinois, including the Chicago History Museum, Illinois Legacy Collection at the Illinois State Museum and Peoria Riverfront Museum, among others. Gallery tours will guide guests through all spaces of the Governor’s Mansion where art is on display. Reservations, which are required for all Art of Illinois tours, may be made by calling 217.782.2526. Visitors will be asked to present a photo identification upon arrival. No large bags will be allowed on the grounds. Photography will not be permitted. Art of Illinois will be on display in the Illinois Governor’s Mansion 7 days a week.
