The first time you listen to Hinds' buoyantly jangly pop, the young Madrid garage-rock band might be taken less seriously than it deserves. No doubt its members perform to have fun, but it's exactly their carefree attitude, slightly off-kilter harmonies, imperfect pronunciations, frequent signature changes, normcore attire and incurable grins that give the band staying power, upending expectations along the way.
