Illinois Senate President Tests Positive For COVID-19

Senate Democratic Caucus

A statement from Don Harmon’s office calls it a “mild breakthrough case” and that he began experiencing symptoms last week. It goes on to say Harmon immediately began self-isolating and sought testing. Contact tracing was implemented once the test result was known.

Harmon, an Oak Park Democrat, says he was vaccinated in the spring.

“I’m even more grateful to be vaccinated, given how mild my symptoms have been. I encourage everyone to get vaccinated and also to not let their guard down as we try to get back to normal,” Harmon said.
