  • Cooper McKim has reported for NPR stations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, South Carolina, and now Wyoming. In South Carolina, he covered recovery efforts from a devastating flood in 2015. Throughout his time, he produced breaking news segments and short features for national NPR. Cooper recently graduated from Tufts University with degrees in Environmental Policy and Music. He's an avid jazz piano player, backpacker, and podcast listener.

  • Chase started in radio while earning his Master's in diplomacy and international commerce at the University of Kentucky. He was bitten by the radio bug while volunteering at Radio Eye (a local equivalent to NIRIS) and soon became a reporter at WUKY. After four years of reporting in Kentucky's Bluegrass, Chase traveled north to join WNIJ as Morning Edition producer. He organizes our morning broadcast, making sure the host is well-supplied with interesting, fresh content. In addition to his pre-dawn duties, Chase reports on a variety of developments in our broadcast area but is particularly drawn to anything with a political or international connection. He is also an avid board gamer.
  • Kerry Lenahan is NPR's Vice President of Product. In this key role on NPR's Digital Media team, she is responsible for the strategy and roadmap for NPR's portfolio of products on the Web, mobile, and other digital platforms, as well as working closely with NPR Member stations to implement opportunities for digital innovation and growth across a digital network.
  • Lauren Onkey is the Senior Director of NPR Music in Washington, DC. In this role, she leads NPR Music's team of journalists, critics, video, and podcast makers, and works with NPR's newsroom and robust Member station network to expand the impact of NPR Music and continue positioning public radio as an essential force in music.

  • Molly is an eighth grader at Franklin Middle School. She plays flute in band and is a swimmer on the SPY Typhoons. She also thinks that it would be helpful to have her bio written by someone else.
  • Arnav is a 7th grader at Franklin Middle School in Springfield, IL. He is a trumpet player in his school's concert band and is also on his school's Quiz Bowl team and has made several appereances on NAQT. He is also a piano player.
  • Adam is an eighth grader at Pleasant Plains Middle School. He likes to run cross country, participate in scholastic bowl, draw, play video games, and read.
  • Emily Abshire (she/they) is an assistant producer for NPR One. She makes day-to-day programming and production decisions about the content in the NPR One app and collaborates with the newsroom to optimize audio stories for platforms beyond radio. She also hand-curates NPR One's ethical news algorithm that powers the app and is used on voice platforms. Along with other members of the NPR One team, Abshire works to envision fresh news experiences on emerging platforms, such as voice assistants and smart speakers.
