She spent 15 years as an independent reporter with the Milwaukee Courier and was an intern with Milwaukee Public Radio, WUWM. She is a graduate of Columbia College in Chicago.

Growing up, I was encouraged by my mother and grandmother to develop and hone my love of art. This encouragement and support was soon echoed by my teachers and other adults in my life. Since earliest memories, I have found incredible happiness in art.
