This Monday evening, October 7 at 6:30 pm Jesse Dayton will appear at Bar None, 245 S. 5th St., in downtown Springfield. Dayton has had a long solo career as a country artist but is only recently beginning to get his just due.
In part Dayton's solo career has taken a back seat until recently because he was working as a lead guitarist recording with Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Ray Price and Willie Nelson. He also served a stint with the punk band X when he filled in for guitarist Billy Zoom when a medical ailment prevented Zoom from touring. As if that's not enough "cool" for you, Dayton has partnered with Rob Zombie on three film soundtracks, also playing the character "Captain Clegg" in Zombie's remake of John Carpenter's Halloween 2.
Dayton's latest record, Mixtape Volume 1, is currently number 26 on the Billboard Cuntry charts. Tickets are available at www.bedrock66.com.
