Diane is a retired hospice nurse and social worker.  She continues her avocation as a community and environmental activist and avid public media listener, reader, and viewer.  She is a member of the executive committee of the Springfield NAACP,  Illinois NAACP Environmental and Climate Justice chair, and board member of the Amargosa Conservancy. She was born and raised in Chicago and has resided in Springfield for over 35 years.
