Host, The 21st ShowBrian Mackey is host of The 21st Show, which airs at 11 a.m. Monday through Friday on public radio stations across the Illinois and replays at 11 p.m. on NPR Illinois.
He previously covered Illinois state government and politics for a dozen public radio stations, based at NPR Illinois (WUIS 91.9 FM) in Springfield, and wrote features and a column for Illinois Issues magazine. He was also Arts & Entertainment editor at The State Journal-Register and Springfield bureau chief for the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.
Before that he worked as a stagehand, security guard, grocery stock boy, Toys ’R’ Us cashier, and cook/dishwasher at a gas-station Burger King.
