Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with threats made against Springfield schools.

A 13 year old male at Springfield’s Washington Middle School was arrested Monday night for sending what police say were threatening text messages.  Police said the communication alluded to a rifle that would be brought to school.

Also on Monday, police were contacted by Sacred Heart-Griffin administrators about a bomb threat via the Yik Yak messaging platform.  Detectives identified a suspect, a 15 year old male, who was arrested.

Tuesday afternoon, police were told of another threat at Springfield High School made on the same platform. It reportedly mentioned a gun being on the campus and named a potential target.  Springfield authorities and the FBI arrested another 15 year old male.

Investigations into these incidents is continuing.
