Williamsville-Sherman School Superintendent Passes Away

The Superintendent of the Williamsville-Sherman school district has died. David Root was 42.

Root had been undergoing treatment for leukemia.   He had  been in the job since 2007. 

On its website, the school district posted a message that praised Root's financial acumen and leadership abilities. He leaves behind a wife and two children.

The State Journal-Register says the school board will hold a special meeting tomorrow to name an interim superintendent.
