Sangamon County Historical Society program "Soil & Soul: Farming in the Sangamon River Valley" will be presented by Rich Saal. The documentary film tells the history of local agriculture through the recalled experiences of ten farmers who have spent their lives farming in the region. They discuss the challenges, traditions and deep connections to the land. Saal is a storytelling visual journalist with more than 40 years of experience as an editorial portrait photographer and documentary film maker. He holds a master's degree from the University of Illinois Springfield and a bachelor's from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
