Junior Historians - Citizen Sleuths: Flatboat Trips and Transportation in the 19th Century - April 11

Junior Historians is the ALPLM’s signature educational series designed to cultivate civic awareness and inspire young minds to become thoughtful, engaged citizens – just as Abraham Lincoln once did. Whether through imaginative play, investigative challenges, or spirited debate, Junior Historians connects personal growth with civic responsibility, empowering the next generation to shape their communities with purpose and compassion.

Float on down the river and join the ALPLM’s Education Team for a splashing good time! This fun and interactive program explores different modes of transportation in Lincoln’s time—by land, water, and more. We’ll dive into the exciting story of young Abraham Lincoln’s flatboat adventure and discover how it helped shape his journey toward leadership. Perfect for curious learners and history explorers!

This program is for third through fifth graders. It's free to attend, but advance reservations are required.
